SPAC analyzed sentences relevant to the presumptive minimum sentence for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon before after the effective date of the Safe Neighborhoods Reform Act. Sentences were more likely to be at least the new presumptive minimum after the act if they had qualifying predicate convictions and did not change for those without qualifying predicate convictions.
