SB 1892 — Mandatory Minimum for Certain Child Pornography Possession Offenses
Senate Bill 1892 proposes to impose a mandatory minimum prison term for possession of child pornography when the victim is a family or household member of the offender. Under current law, possession of child pornography under paragraph (6) of subsection (a) is a Class 3 felony that can be sentenced to prison for 2-5 years or probation up to 2.5 years, or a Class 2 felony that can be sentenced to prison for 3-7 years or probation for up to 4 years.
