House Bill 5708 reclassifies Cannabis Control Act offenses as follows (see chart on next page): (1) Possession of less than 30 grams becomes a petty offense with a fine of $100, and (2) Possession of 30 to 500 grams reclassified from a Class 4 felony to a Class A misdemeanor for the first offense.
